The Dan Herbatschek Fellowship — $60,000. One year. A rigorous circuit through mathematics, technology, and business.
Knowledge has never been an ornament in my life. It has been a form of order, dignity, and freedom. I learned too early that money is never merely money: it can determine whether a family has choices, whether a crisis becomes a catastrophe, and whether a young person's time belongs to education or survival.
Serious support for serious potential.
A 12-month program from Ramsey Theory Group combining a $60,000 individual allocation with rigorous study, sustained mentorship and practical work. It is intended for students whose abilities are greater than circumstances have yet allowed them to demonstrate.
From foundations to contribution.
Foundations
Logic, probability, linear algebra, algorithms, systems thinking, writing and argument.
Models and Code
Programming, data, modeling, optimization, machine learning and software architecture.
Applied Practice
Product thinking, business models, operations, research and mentored project work.
Contribution
An independent capstone, a presentation or defense, and a defined next-stage plan.
- 01 Foundations: Logic, probability, linear algebra, algorithms, systems thinking, writing and argument.
- 02 Models and Code: Programming, data, modeling, optimization, machine learning and software architecture.
- 03 Applied Practice: Product thinking, business models, operations, research and mentored project work.
- 04 Contribution: An independent capstone, a presentation or defense, and a defined next-stage plan.
The fellowship joins forms of knowledge that are too often separated. Fellows will study ideas at their foundations, learn to express them through mathematics and code, test them against practical constraints and produce work that can be examined, used and shared.
A non-linear path is not a lesser one.
The fellowship is for students whose ability is greater than circumstances have yet allowed them to demonstrate.
Difficulty alone is not a qualification. The fellowship looks for intellectual ability, seriousness, resilience, curiosity and evidence that the candidate will use the opportunity fully.
Applications for the 2027 cohort.
We seek exceptional candidates with intellectual seriousness, evidence of initiative and a clear account of how financial support, rigorous study and practical exposure would change what they are able to pursue.
